On the grounds at Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul

In April 2016 we had a mission trip to Tokyo Japan, and then after that we had another mission trip to South Korea. We were in Seoul for 8 days. We used AAdvantage frequent flyer miles on American Airlines to fly for free to Japan. Then we had enough miles to travel for a mission trip to South Korea on Japan Airlines. Our return trip was on Japan Airlines, Hawaiian and American Airlines.

Our mission trip to South Korea was not one of our best mission trips as far as having a lot of schools to speak in and other missions activities in Seoul. Unfortunately our partner in Seoul did not arrange many mission activities for us there. Normally we do not have much time for sightseeing on our mission trips, perhaps part of 1 day, because we are trying to speak in as many churches and schools as possible. And we want to help as many people as possible while we are on the trip. On our trip to South Korea we had more tourist time than normal, and we took advantage of that as much as we could.

We visited various sites in Seoul, including the Seoul Tower and surrounding park, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Namdaemun Gate and  Namdaemun Market, and others. Seoul is a beautiful and modern city, and we really enjoyed visiting there.

Here are some photos we took during our visit there. Even though the missions part of the trip was somewhat disappointing, we had a very good trip, thanks especially to our great hosts Kenny and Sonya.
