Recommendation:  There have been higher bonus targeted offers in the past for the Chase United MileagePlus Explorer card, up to 75,000 miles. There was also a public offer of 60,000 bonus miles in the past, but it is not clear when or if another special offer will be coming that will be better than this one.

The Chase United MileagePlus Explorer card 50,000 miles bonus offer is a good one if you need United Airlines miles. If you need MileagePlus miles fairly soon then it is a good card to get. If you can afford to wait for a better offer, it would pay off to wait, especially considering that this card counts towards the Chase 5/24 rule. Then again, if you wait too long you may not qualify for the card because you would be over the Chase 5/24 limit.

Besides the better bonus, the Chase United MileagePlus Explorer card 50,000 miles offer has a couple of other differences from the standard offer on the card. The $95 annual fee is waived in the 1st year for this offer, and normally it is not waived. Also the spend requirement is $3000 in 3 months instead of the standard $2000.

There  are other valuable benefits with this card, including 2 free United Club passes each anniversary, no foreign transaction fees, trip cancellation/interruption insurance, lost luggage or delay insurance, rental car collision  damage waiver, trip delay reimbursement, and purchase protection.
